Interpreter Search

To search for a Michigan qualified interpreter use the below features to narrow or expand your search. Some members have requested that certain information remain private. Such information cannot be used to find a member and will not be displayed.

Please note, the registry maintains certifications up to 120 days after expiration. If a renewal application is not postmarked on or before the due date of June 30th or the annual BEI certificate expiration due date a $15 late fee will be applied.

A qualified interpreter with a BEI credential who allows it to lapse must retest unless the fully completed renewal is submitted within 90 calendar days following the date the credential expired. A qualified interpreter with an EIPA or RID credential who fails to submit a renewal within 45 calendar days must pay a reinstatement fee in addition to late fees.

*Standard Level 1 : is used to refer to Interpreters eligible to interpret in Standard Level 1 proceedings.

*Standard Level 2 : is used to refer to Interpreters eligible to interpret in Standard Level 2 proceedings.

*Standard Level 3 : is used to refer to Interpreters eligible to interpret in Standard Level 3 proceedings.

*Elementary Education : is used to refer to Interpreters eligible to interpret in Elementary educational settings (pre-kindergarten through 6th grade).

*Secondary Education : is used to refer to Interpreters eligible to interpret in Secondary educational settings (grade 7 to age 26).

*Michigan Endorsements : is used to refer to Interpreters eligible to work in proceedings that involve DeafBlind persons, and in Medical/Mental Health, and Legal Settings.
